A fantastic night filled with incredible energy and nostalgia, Scouting for Girls are back on tour celebrating the 15th anniversary of Everybody Wants To Be On TV. This tour is certainly not their first rodeo, and it was clear they know how to entertain.

There was a buzz in the air from the very start at Bristol’s O2 Academy. As the audience filtered in, there were smiles in every direction. Warming up the crowd were two incredible acts. The Souls brought high energy and strong beats, while The Dunwells blew the crowd away with their impressive vocals and likeable personas.

Scouting for Girls were up next, and when they arrived, they kicked off their set with Famous. With its addictive beat, it was the perfect choice to open the show. The room broke out into a roar of enthusiasm, and the audience didn’t waste a minute before joining in. Their iconic blend of indie pop and rock will always be a hit with a crowd, and as the evening continued, they played British fan-favourites like This Ain’t a Love Song, I Wish I Was James Bond, and Posh Girls.

The highlight of this gig was their commanding stage presence. From the moment they stepped on stage, Roy, Greg, and James were constantly bouncing off each other’s energy. There was pure joy across all their faces, proof that they are still having so much fun together even after 20 years. Roy also took a moment to jump into the audience, running around the venue and interacting with fans, which was an unexpected but brilliant touch.

Another thing worth noting was their stage setup. It featured retro TVs and a large screen backdrop, which helped elevate the show. Larger-scale stage designs seem to be on the decline, but they do add a great value to the live experience.

To bring the show to a close, it was no surprise they played the ultimate classic, She’s So Lovely. The floor beneath everyone was shaking because there was a collective roar from the crowd singing the lyrics at the top of their lungs. The energy was so infectious, even a security guard at the front row was joining in.

Overall, it was an incredible show packed with feel-good music, high energy, and 2010s nostalgia. Scouting for Girls will always have the power to bring a room full of strangers together, and this show was no different.

Their new album These Are The Good Days is set to be released later this month, and it’s certainly shaping up to be the perfect track list for a festival-filled summer.
