On a cold, windy and rainy Sunday night, if you could pick your perfect night out, where would you choose? For ADRENALINE Magazine, it was the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester, watching Audrey Hobert play her debut album start to finish.
The New York-born singer-songwriter first gained recognition through co-writing several songs on friend Gracie Abrams’ sophomore album. She then kicked off her career as a solo musician with her debut single Sue me at the beginning of 2025, and subsequently released her debut album Who’s the Clown? in August of the same year, which projected the singer into the forefront of a new direction, for the once-songwriter, now-artist.
Starting the show standing tall – literally, the singer stood on stilts at over 7ft tall – with a long trench coat, a pair of comedy glasses, her hair in a wild side ponytail, and playing the banjo, Audrey kicked off her set with I like to touch people.
Her image is an act of comedy. She is chaotic and funny, but most of all, she’s carefree, and millions across the world adore her for it.

As soon as Audrey began singing, fans sang along to every word. So early into her set, you could tell this would be a running theme throughout the show. At the end of the song, the lights went off forcing the room into complete darkness, and the sound of a car crash echoed throughout the venue leading into the next track from the singer’s debut, called Drive.
From the first beat all the way to the end, Audrey danced and strutted from either side of the stage with pure confidence running through every step.
Audrey then took time to greet the audience and told us that this particular show was the biggest on her tour, at which she teased she actually likes it this way, and that being be up on stage in front of so many people is ‘so fun’. Social anxiety is definitely scared of her.
Wasting no time, the singer-songwriter then went into Wet Hair, which sent the crowd immediately breaking into screams as soon as the opening notes began. Nearing the end of the song Audrey took a second and broke into a monologue, detailing a time from when she was younger, in a car with her friends, where ‘the boys’ were rating her friends in the car from a scale of 1-10. She told Manchester that when it got to her, the boy had said ‘3’ at which the crowd (understandably) booed.

She laughed and reassured the audience that she knew her worth, and ultimately always felt she was ‘destined for something more’, which led her back into the song which details her exact feelings.
Then, suddenly the lights went dark again, and music played throughout the venue – but not just any type of music – the type of music that you would hear in an elevator. Audrey then paced back and forth on stage and joked she was getting her steps in. The crowd laughed as she told us that she ‘should probably plan something’ for this part of the show, but she likes to see what pops in her mind in the very moment, but in this particular moment she joked that nothing was coming to her mind!
Before her set came to an eventual close, Audrey revealed to the crowd that during the next song, she likes to look at as many people as she possibly can. She reached out to the crowd, telling them it’s for anyone who has ever felt ‘any less than someone else’, and that song was Phoebe.

And just like that, a small trampoline was brought out onto the stage and Audrey’s lead single Sue me started to play throughout the venue. She paced back and forth the stage dancing every second, sharing a special moment with the audience.
As if the crowd expected any more, she went into another high energy track called Silver Jubilee where no energy was spared. Audrey knew how to show the crowd a good time and that she did exactly that!
And just when you thought the show was over, the opening notes of Sue me blasted through the speakers one last time, but this time the singer told the audience to put away their phones as she told fans, “This is life!”
Audrey Hobert is well on her way to becoming the next big thing in pop music, with her fan base already growing at such a fast pace, she doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Despite this being the singer’s first release of music and her first time touring as a solo artist, you wouldn’t have been able to tell as she looks so comfortable on the stage as if she has been doing it for years.

This seems to only be the beginning for the new artist, but it is clear she’s not planning to stop any time soon.
