12:34 takes on an entirely different form compared to The Band CAMINO’s previous releases, including 2021’s light-hearted I Think I Like You which exploded onto the music scene, gaining the group a dedicated and well-deserved fan base. It’s something slightly darker and fresher but it still clings onto what the band writes about best – love and desire.

The Nashville alt-pop trio know their listeners very well – a bunch of hopeless romantics – which this song highlights. With a plethora of references to luck: wishbones, four leaf clovers and the famous 11:11 all thrown in the mix, it’s a song for the yearners amongst us, where the desire for love is almost better than the thing itself.

The tune is an explosion of sound and at times can feel slightly disorientating with its wailing guitars and pounding drums. 12:34 is urgent, reflecting on the desperation to love and please which is one of the reasons why I adore this song. Jeffrey Jordan’s beautiful vocals drip with longing, “I’ll keep picking red rose petals / love me, love me, love / I missed 11:11, I’ll wish on 12:34” and they work in harmony with everything else, creating an easy-going yet still slightly moody atmosphere.

It’s a fun, elegant display of what romance means to them, and the soundtrack for those in love and for those who are still searching. Simply a stunner of a single, 12:34 showcases that the best is still yet to come.
