Review by Chloe Morris.

Glitter, sequins, and good vibes, Dayfever is the new daytime rave sweeping the nation. Founded by Vicky McClure, Jonny Owen, and Jon McClure, this event reinvents the traditional night out for the better by flipping nightlife on its head with a club ‘day’.

Gone are the struggles of planning your journey home in advance or trying to keep the energy up past your bedtime. Dayfever runs from 2pm to 8pm, giving you plenty of time to have fun without the usual complications. I had the pleasure of attending one of their recent events in Sheffield to see what it’s all about.

I arrived promptly at 2pm and was greeted by a growing queue of eager attendees waiting to make their way inside. Once inside, the crowd wasted no time as the infectious setlist had people hitting the dancefloor immediately. With drinks in hand, everyone who came flooding in wore beaming smiles, ready to enjoy what they came for: a good time.

As the venue filled, some of the audience relived their clubbing days, dressed to the nines in sparkles and sequins, while others simply came to enjoy quality time with friends and family.

One thing I personally love about Dayfever is how it eliminates the late-night travel worries. There’s no frantic rush to catch the last bus or any concern about walking home alone in the dark. In fact, Dayfever has this miraculous ability to make you forget it’s still daytime – it was almost surreal stepping outside into unexpected daylight when I took a break.

With classic hits like Tiger Feet, I Want You Back, and Rasputin, the crowd easily danced the day away, often moving in unison on the dancefloor. The energy in the room was something truly special. Looking around, I saw what a night out should be: pure, unfiltered joy.

With many more events planned across the UK, Dayfever is only set to grow in popularity. So, grab your mum, your siblings, or your friends and experience a day out instead of a night out – you won’t regret it.

  • I’m Chloe (She/Her) an events and portrait photographer based in Bristol. I’ve always had a strong interest in photography much before choosing to study it at Falmouth University. I have vivid memories of setting up a makeshift studio in my garage, using bedsheets and rope with LED lights purchased off Amazon, getting my sister and friends to model for me. This sparked my creative flare and made me want to learn how to turn my passion into a full-time job. Looking forward, I have high aspirations for my work, I’m currently working towards becoming a full-time freelance photographer, shooting events and portraits, and showcasing to other female photographers, it’s possible to make it in this heavily male dominated industry, inspiring young women who are currently building their make shift studios with their bedsheets and rope.
