Dreamy, wistful and packed full of nostalgia, Supergrass have just announced a 20th anniversary edition of their fifth studio album, Road To Rouen, set for release on the 3rd October 2025, via BMG.
Highlighted as one of the most important bands to emerge during the 1990s, consisting of Gaz Coombes, Mick Quinn, Danny Goffey, and Rob Coombes, Supergrass formed in Oxford in 1993, selling millions of records, scoring six Top 10 albums, ten Top 20 singles, and picking up accolades from the Brit Awards, NME Awards, and Ivor Novello Awards.
Originally launched on the 15th August 2005, Road To Rouen peaked at #9 on the UK Albums Chart, earning glowing 4-star and 5-star reviews from publications like The Guardian, Mojo and Uncut.
The twentieth anniversary album will feature an expanded tracklist, with all original tracks remastered, alongside unheard live recordings and previously unreleased track Don’t Leave Me Alone, which is out now.
For fans who grew up with the record, these tracks mark a turning point, taking a tonal shift from the band’s previous sound. Road To Rouen showcased a more reflective and soul-searching sound with longer, orchestral arrangements. To this day, it’s considered their most personal work, departing from Supergrass’ typical upbeat style, and instead embracing the more mellow and introspective, taking a different direction, which in turn contributed to its widespread critical success.

Speaking on the release, Mick Quinn, the founding member of Supergrass said, ‘From a lost winter in the French countryside, we attempted an experimental, uplifting record far outside our comfort zone. Road To Rouen became a compact joy that still holds a cherished place in our hearts. Vive la différence.’
The album features fan-favourite St Petersburg, and the singles Low C and Fin, showcasing a more mature style and highlighting the ability to change direction without losing sight of the band’s original identity.
The 20th Anniversary Edition will be available digitally, on a gatefold 2LP petrol and forest green vinyl, with printed inner sleeves, and a 2CD digisleeve, both formats accompanied by a booklet with liner notes written by radio broadcaster Mark Radcliffe.

The twentieth anniversary edition of Road To Rouen is set to fully release on the 3rd October.
Pre-order now – a tribute to the record that pushed Supergrass out of their comfort zone and became a cult classic.
