Indie giants The Cribs returned to Manchester this past Saturday for a night of pure carnage at the well-renowned Albert Hall. Get your pints up and ready; this venue is about to turn nasty.

Kicking off the evening, the four-piece electronic band Courting burst onto the stage, delivering hit after hit, showing no signs of slowing down. The cheers from the crowd only acted as fuel as the intensity of their act rose to 11 – the final songs from their set showcasing their raw passion for their craft.

A killer sight to witness indeed.

Have you got your beers ready? Good.

As the trio entered one by one, the sky rained down, not with rain as such, but from the local lager on draft behind the bar. I should know, I got pelted by one. A calling card for a classic Cribs gig. The lights went dim, and the guitars roared to life. The Cribs were back and ready to punch a hole in your Saturday night.

Their set was full of nostalgic classics peppered with new hits from their latest studio album, Selling A Vibe. Including the likes of Dark Luck, Summer Seizures, and A Point Too Hard to Make. Both old and new fans made their voices heard around the Albert Hall, all celebrating this special night as one.

By the time Men’s Needs made its appearance, this crowd had well and truly been given a night to remember. It’s one I won’t be forgetting for a long time to come.
