Parking Lot is a poignant coming-of-age track with soaring strings, delicate piano melodies, and an emotional build that explodes into an epic crescendo. It signals the return of rising pop sensation Sofia Camara.
Speaking on the new release, Sofia Camara said: “Parking Lot was inspired by one of those times when loss and rage blend together, making it difficult to distinguish between being angry at someone or simply sad that they are no longer in your life.”
“It’s about the mental gymnastics we do to protect ourselves – making someone the villain just so it’s easier to let go. This song is me owning the ugly parts of healing, the tears cried in cars, the things we say that we don’t mean, and the threads of hope we hold onto when we know something’s over. It’s messy, it’s real, it’s honest, and I think a lot of people will see a piece of themselves in this song.”
Co-written and produced by Mike Wise (Ellie Goulding, Alessia Cara), Nathan Ferraro (Beyoncé, Lady Gaga), and Lowell (Tate McRae, Madison Beer), the track is another collaboration with the award-winning trio behind her breakout single, Who Do I Call Now?

Sofia’s return to her trademark heartfelt ballads in Parking Lot solidifies her status as one of the pop industry’s most exciting up-and-coming artists.
Earlier this summer, Sofia surprised fans with her Spotify Singles two-track release, which included a cover of Gracie Abrams’ That’s So True and an official acoustic version of her Girls Like You. It marked another milestone in her Spotify journey, where she now boasts over 2 million monthly listeners.
Parking Lot precedes significant festival appearances at Lollapalooza’s BMI stage in Chicago and Osheaga’s main stage in Montreal, before a run of October live shows.
Due to high demand, venues for Sofia’s UK and European headline tour have been upgraded. She’ll now play four UK headline shows in mid-October – Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, and London – before heading across Europe for eight more dates.
Sofia Camara’s career is only just starting – and I, for one, cannot wait to see her musical journey continue.
Parking Lot is out now everywhere.
