Bowling For Soup Celebrate 20th Anniversary of ‘A Hangover You Don’t Deserve’ — in Wolverhampton! [The Halls, 09.02.25]

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of their 5th album, A Hangover You Don’t Deserve, Bowling For Soup put on an amazing sold-out performance at The Civic Halls, University of Wolverhampton.

Before the main act, fans were treated to two opening acts, Magnolia Park being the first to step on stage.

Although most fans may not have listened to the band before now, they most definitely will in the future, as they brought such high energy into the room with their set, even while performing a song that had only been played a couple of times live.

Wheatus was next to perform, fans knowing who they are, the room grew louder as they filled the room with nostalgia, playing one of their greatest hits, Teenage Dirtbag

As an alternative/indie rock band, Bowling For Soup released their first self titled album in 1994, and since then they have gone on to release 10 other electrifying albums. Kicking off the main show with Almost, the first of 20 songs that night, the crowd quickly became alive with excitement.

At the start of the third song, 1985, yellow confetti showered all over the crowd, conjuring a mixture of cheers and screams, making the night even more exciting.

The atmosphere of the show was unmatched—it was laid back and fun, with lifelong fans and younger pop-punk lovers coming together to enjoy it, and it was packed with humour.

Throughout the show, Bowling For Soup showed their goofy stage presence, shared stories from over the years and interacted with the crowd. They fully embrace their ‘I’m still a teenager at heart’ vibe.

A Bowling For Soup concert is not polished—it is a room full of friends singing karaoke, jokes, and good vibes. If you love pop-punk and don’t mind a little banter, then a Bowling for Soup show is one you’ll never forget.

Don’t just take my word for it, a member of the audience told me that they saw Bowling for Soup around ten years ago, and that this time around they were just as exciting: ‘the fact they did a set of 20 songs made it a good value for money, unlike a show i had last year that only did a 45 minute set!’

‘I quite liked Magnolia Park too. Wheatus were just as good and as weird as the last time I saw them, which was probably 10 years ago too. I thought the audience interaction from Jared was really good and the sound quality was brilliant.’

I think it’s safe to say that Bowling For Soup know how to throw a party, because that’s exactly what it felt like; full of confetti, beer, a good laugh, and appreciation of the fans.
