Last month, interviewer Kelsey was out at TRNSMT interviewing some of the lineup. Here’s her interview with Calum Bowie, where he expressed his gratitude for the crowd showing up early and discussed his upcoming UK tour.

I’m at TRNSMT 2025, and I’m with Callum Bowie! Firstly, how are you feeling?!
CALUM BOWIE
Eh, hot! But good. Yeah, it’s exciting to be back.
KELSEY MCANDREW
And you’re just off the Main Stage! How did it feel to be opening the weekend?!
CALUM BOWIE
Uh, it kind of went (so quickly) to be honest. It was such a flash. And I mean, we done a load of prep and stuff, so I’m so pleased that, you know, that felt worth it. It was so nice to see so many people turn up. Especially opening as well, I’m always worried that no one will turn up, so it was nice that so many people started coming in!
KELSEY MCANDREW
Absolutely! I managed to catch the last song Love Lost, and everyone was singing along. It was such good vibes!
You do have your December shows coming up… pre-sale sold out…
CALUM BOWIE
Pre-sale sold out, yeah, we did! That absolutely blew me away. I did not expect that cause we put a lot of pre-sale on, in terms of people who had access, because it was people who had signed up to the mailing list get access, so if they wanted a ticket, we wanted to give it to them, but yeah it sold out! So general sale on today, so… fingers crossed.
KELSEY MCANDREW
And at the Barrowlands! People dream of that venue. Is it quite cool to headline there yourself?
CALUM BOWIE
Yeah, for sure! I mean the Barras is such an iconic venue anyway, and I remember I did a festival called Tenement Trail in October 2022, and I saw The Vistas headline it and I was just like, “Yeah, that’s the one!”
Just the ceiling as well, and like… the sheer size of it!
KELSEY MCANDREW
Yeah definitely, you have to tick that off!
You’ve had a really busy year this year and last… you were Scottish breakthrough artist, you hit number four in the album charts next to Selena Gomez. How does that feel to already have a legacy to look back on?
CALUM BOWIE
It’s crazy. It’s super cool and it’s been such a crazy few years cause I remember even a couple years ago, you know, I was still doing shows and stuff and slowly they were getting bigger… but I feel like in the last two years between the last TRNSMT at the King Tut’s stage and this one, things have really different, which has been great.
KELSEY MCANDREW
I’m sure it’ll keep going! It was lovely chatting to you, and I’ll hopefully be at one of your shows on tour if I manage to get tickets!
