Review by Oliver Galbraith.

Belfast based four-piece :Panic :Over are back with their second release of 2026, bringing us a new indie rock single titled Over Again. The track delicately contemplates our inability to accept that we are growing old and will inevitably drift apart from those that we once considered our closest friends, however the track does possess has a sense of joy as we look to the future and see everything that is still to come.

“The impossibility of embracing the future when the past still lingers so close in our minds.”

These universal feelings are captured by the layered harmonies that build up to the climax of the song when we fully experience the dual vocals that :Panic :Over do best.

The lead guitar which almost seems to be coming from somewhere far away, as if we are listening to it from another room, lingers in your mind while you race to save the lyrics so you can shout them back. It is a song you can imagine screaming live, dancing in your room alone or breaking down to – it has a little bit of everything in it for everyone!

Over Again fits into exactly what you would expect from the newest :Panic :Over release. The Belfast outfit are beginning to define their own sound with influences from the likes of indie legends Sam Fender and Inhaler.

The chorus perfectly captures the feeling of being trapped in the nostalgia just before you can accept the bittersweet nature that comes with the end of an era with the lyrics “I thought I messed up, only had myself to blame, told myself that it would never be the same, now I recognize it was all inside my head.”

Compared to previous :Panic :Over releases, this song is more contemplative and delves into more mature themes.

:Panic :Over will perform at Ulster Sports Club on 1st July.

Everyone that knows these guys are waiting for them to fully blow up and take the scene by storm, and this could be the song that does just that. See them live if you can.
